Women can be empowered through supporting their sense of self-worth, their freedom to make their own decisions, and their right to have an impact on social change for both themselves and other people. In addition to guaranteeing women’s equality, the Constitution gives the State the authority to implement measures that positively discriminate in favour of women. The goal of women’s equality now faces additional obstacles due to globalisation, the effects of which on gender have not yet been thoroughly assessed.
Women in India are taught at an early age that they are less than males. The women are instructed to rely on the male role models in their lives. Because of how deeply ingrained these patriarchal and misogynistic attitudes are women stop caring about the assault. Many women are forced to suffer in silence due to lack of knowledge, lack of awareness, and fear of societal shame. Only 14% of women who reported being assaulted activity sought assistance the rest of them suffered silently.
Ready to serve Foundation offers livelihood training to disadvantaged and socially excluded women. They receive counselling for the societal shame, discrimination, and trauma they have experienced throughout their lives, which enables them to lead regular lives. Ready to serve Foundation has begun to empower women by providing them with various training programmes for revenue generation, such as mattress making, beautician, mehandi designing, candle making and decorative diyas etc.
